Difference between Art Periods and Art Movements
Art Periods: An Art period is a longer piece of time including numerous diverse craftsmen and their works of visual craftsmanship, music, theatre, and writing. A craftmanship period ordinarily incorporates a few craftmanship developments with a shared centre or objective. Craftsmen and their works of craftmanship are ordinarily gathered into craftsmanship students of history after the period has come and gone.

The Ancient period
The Modern Time Period
The Early Modern Time Period
Medieval and Renaissance Time Period
Art Movements: An Art Movement is a collection of artists and their work that share a common philosophy, goal, technique, style, or period. Many movements have formed clubs that host manifestos, speakers, and special art exhibitions.
Examples of Art Movements are:
Pop Art
Fauvism
Surrealism
Futurism

Western Art and Design Timelines

The Western Art period started in the 15th Century, European artists started showing their skills and styles to the new world which created or paved the way for American and Canadian traditions to also start exploring, so their traditions were mixed with that of the Europeans.
Graphic Design (Commercial Art) History Timeline

Graphic Design was said to originate from early cave paintings by historians about 38,000 BCE. The early forms of paintings in caves were how people use to communicate from generation to generation. William Morris was the founder of graphic art and aesthetics.
